This. Eclectic.Journey - From 540 Mercantile to Beverly Towers Designs
Hello! I'm Beverly -- designer, and owner of Beverly Towers Designs. As with any journey, there are turns and crossroads. I'm thrilled that you've found me here!
The journey starts here. 540 Mercantile was conceived in 2010 in my home studio and started selling on Etsy. Mostly jewelry, Wine Bags, Home Décor, and Vintage Finds, while studying Interior Design and working in graphic design. I was living in Virgina, preparing for a move to Texas.
In 2011, that move took me to McKinney, Texas. In the spring of 2013, 540 Mercantile open as a brick and mortar in the Historic Downtown of McKinney. 540 became an artistic vender mall housing a range of eclectic inventory, antiques, home décor, fashion, jewelry, supporting at one time 65 different artisans.
In 2016, I developed Moss Rose Design to create home décor textiles using my graphic designs. My first launch were patriotic cotton woven towels. I was so pleased on the quality of the finished product! Now Moss Rose Designs number over 190 designs on more than 12 different products.
As any good journey progresses, in 2022, I found a 1913 fixer upper the nearby town of Sherman. My two-story colonial reminds me of Virgina and the charming neighborhood is filled with great neighbors. During the all but 10 years of 540 Mercantile, I have been blessed to call many, cherished friends from vendors and customers. It was an extraordinary labor of love, but at the end December of 2022, I decided to bring that part of the journey to a close and to explore what might be next.
Throughout This.Eclectic.Journey of mine, I still love searching for a vintage treasure, refurbishing my home and designing beautiful jewelry and home furnishings, all can be found through this website. I pray that the spirit and community which began as 540 Mercantile will continue to grow.
As time goes on, I'll share my restoration progress, gluten free recipe and stories through a blog right here on the site and look forward to staying in touch with you as we continue This. Eclectic. Journey together.
